Julio Cesar Chavez and Mario “ Azabache” Martinez were a little more gentle and circumspect with the blows they landed this time around.
The veritable war they had three decades ago was classic of all Mexican passion and aggression. This second helping was a wonderful exhibition that greatly entertained more than 4,000 fans that attended the Gym Revolution. The event was organized by Julio in order to raise funds for his Rehab foundation.
To roars, Chavez made his much-anticipated ring entrance, wearing his red headband….followed by his rival, Mario “Azabache “ Martinez.
Julio rapidly Displayed an array of his best punches from short distance, throwing combinations, but pulling those still dinamite thunderbolts to insure they did no harm.
During the second round, Martinez downed his guard while the Greatest Mexican Champion of all time keep “Went” for the body and the head.
The best round was the third and last one were both delivered and dished up all they’d got, showing the evident will and flashes of skills that took them to glory in the past.
Chavez sincerely thanked all the people involved for making this exhibition possible, including the local and municipal government. But also and ESPECIALLY all the fans that came to support his rehab foundation, which does such vital work.
