Alvarez, Gutierrez no contest; Carmona, Parrenas draw; Tyson Marquez TKO (photos)

The fight seemed enter it’s prime until Alvarez’s head caused a cut in the mouth of the Colombian in the fourth round which was the called a no decision in the main event of the function held this Saturday at the Multipurpose Center (CUM) of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

The contest was warming up nicely in the first two round with Alvarez going forward throwing punches to the body and head of Gutierrez who stood waiting. Unfortunately, the unexpected result came in the fourth assault when in an exchange of blows in one corner left Gutierrez with the cut, and after being examined by the ringside physician, it was found that he could no longer continue in the contest. Alvarez was up on the cards at the time of the no contest.

Also on the bill, David Carmona and Warlito Parrenas fought out a draw following twelve exciting rounds in a fight where the interim super flyweight belt of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) was at stake.

Carmona and Parrenas gave the best fight of the night, full of technical quality and courage on the part of the two contenders who reached expectation of the fans.

At the end of the bout, judges scored 115-113 to Carmona and 115-112 to Parrenas – with a third carding 114-114.

Earlier, former world champion HernĆ”n ‘Tyson’ MĆ”rquez overcame some troubles to defeat JosĆ© Alfredo Tirado. Marquez finally won by TKO in the eighth round.
