Heavyweight Lucas Browne has reacted to reports stateside that the big-hitting Aussie is on a two-man shortlist to be the next voluntary challenger to WBC title holder Deontay Wilder.
The 36 year-old has worked his to the mandatory position with the WBA, but with Ruslan Chagaev facing Francesco Pianeta and Fres Oquendo in the near future, Browne is eyeing an alternative route to a championship bout.
That’s where Wilder comes in as ‘The Bronze Bomber’ recently named Browne and Vyacheslav Glazkov as his two targets for a second defense is September and ‘Big Daddy’ is more than willing to accept any offer that comes his way.
“I’m ready for the challenge, I think he’s on borrowed time,” Browne exclusively told World Boxing News on Tuesday.
“If it’s not me that gets to him, it will be someone else soon and Wilder has got no chin and it’s just a matter of time before somebody lands on it.
“He’s got chicken legs keeping him up and with the power I have I’ll be the new WBC champ for sure,” he added.
I would respond if I could understand you… https://t.co/mBNx9ctk3a

The pair have been going at it on social media for a while now and once Browne got wind of the news, he posted a video calling out Wilder – only for the world champion to fire back with; ‘I would respond if I could understand you’.
If Wilder does decide to put his green belt on the line against Browne, the fight wouldn’t too much build up to those who follow the pair on their respective accounts and would be a battle of the knockout specialists for the fans to look forward to in the autumn.
