Sky Sports’ boxing magazine show, Ringside is set to move from TV to online next month, presenter and former fighter Johnny Nelson has confirmed.
The popular show, broadcast by the network every Thursday, will now add content to the Sky Sports website and other online resources in a move that Sky hope will bring more of their viewers in touch with what other internet services they have to offer.
Presented by Sky Head of Boxing Adam Smith, Ed Robinson and Nelson, the show has featured the cream of boxing since its first broadcast last decade and has spawned TV careers for ex-boxers Spencer Oliver, Jamie Moore and Nelson himself.
When speaking about the new format, Nelson moved to reassure fans that show has not been cancelled at that they are still a big part of the Sky boxing schedule.
“Ringside will still be shown almost every day via the net and various other outlets. Don’t worry we are going nowhere,” confirmed Nelson.
The move, which is said to be happening in early July, is already causing uproar with the devoted fans who follow the show each week and comes just months after BoxNation launched their own magazine show fronted by online reporters Kugan Cassius and James Helder.
