Welsh cruiserweight Craig Kennedy made it twelve straight victories as a pro with a unanimous decision victory over Courtney Fry in Newport.

The 30 year-old became mandatory challenger to the British title at 200lbs by edging a hard-fought contest with Fry, who put in a good performance despite his veteran years.

Kennedy will now face Lonsdale Belt holder Ovill McKenzie unless the Derby man decides to vacate the title after being awarded the contest 96-94, 95-93 and 95-94 on the cards.

Also on the Newport Centre bill, Gary Buckland made a successful return from his December Prizefighter disappointment to stop George Gachechiladze in three rounds.

Buckland, 29, now boasts a career C.V of 30 wins and six losses following the victory and will move on to bigger fights in the future.
