September 12 date approved, Mayweather foe set to be revealed

The Nevada Athletic Commission has unanimously approved the proposal of Floyd Mayweather to stage his next fight on September 12th.

Mayweather Promotions requested the date, which was approved by the local commissioners.

With this bout, Floyd Mayweather will conclude his contract of six fights with Showtime and this could also mean the retirement of the WBC super welterweight and welterweight Champion, according to his recent statements.

Floyd’s next bout will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he’ll fight a rival to be announced during the coming days.

Since Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26KOs) signed with Showtime, he’s fought twice per year, around May and September. His last 11 fights, since 2007 have been at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
