New Zealander Joseph Parker made it twelve knockout from fourteen wins in his home country on Saturday by stopping veteran German Yakup Saglam early on in their heavyweight clash.
The 23 year-old proved too tough for Saglam, 38, who felt Parker’s superior power from the very first round and was eventually saved from further punishment 45 seconds into the second session. With the victory, Parker successfully defended his WBO Oriental and PABA heavyweight titles and improved his standing as a future contender.
Parker is set to return to action on August 1 at Stadium Southland as the 6ft 4ins bruiser continues to make waves in the top division.
On the undercard, welterweight Jeff Horn also remained undefeated as he halted Richmond Djarbeng in three rounds, whilst there were also victories for Izuagbe Ugonoh, Bowyn Morgan, Joe Blackbourn and David Letele, with only Ogonoh having to go the full distance.
