Hennessy Sports are pleased to announce that the Haskins-Iwasa undercard on June 13 will be televised live and exclusively on Spike (Sky Channel 160) in the United Kingdom.
Saturday’s IBF Interim World Bantamweight Title clash between Bristol’s Lee Haskins and Japan’s Ryosuke Iwasa will be screened live on Channel 5, while the Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Title contest between Bob Ajisafe and Daniel Wanyonyi, as well as the pick of the undercard, will find a home on Spike from 7.30pm.
This means fight fans will get the chance to watch the likes of Ajisafe, Darren Hamilton and Young Fury in action before Haskins and Iwasa lock horns in the main event.
“This is a bit of a game-changer for us,” said promoter Mick Hennessy, “as it gives us the opportunity to televise more fights and showcase more of our fighters.
“It gives those fighters on the undercard a platform to express themselves and really impress. It also offers fight fans the chance to enjoy a full night’s boxing, rather than just tuning in for the main event.
“We’re thankful to Channel 5 and Spike for giving us this extended slot and hope to deliver some great fights on June 13.”
Spike is a British digital television channel owned by the Channel 5 division of Viacom International Media Networks Europe. It launched in the UK on April 15, 2015 – a replacement for Viva on Freeview – and primarily airs entertainment programming geared towards a male audience. In addition to their commitment to boxing, Spike also show Bellator mixed martial arts events.
Sky customers can find Spike on channel 160, while Freeview customers can get it on channel 31.
