Carlos Carlson battles Heriberto Delgado on Saturday night

Carlson vs. Delgado (6-rounds) is the televised opener of Top Rank’s Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas, and is presented in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions. The event originates from the Florentine Gardens in Hollywood, Calif.

The 25-year-old Carlson is among the most exciting young boxers in the bantamweight division. After coming up short in his professional debut four years ago, Carlson has since scored sixteen straight wins. He captured the WBC Latino Championship last year and is looking to climb the rankings with a solid performance against Delgado.

“I just have to keep on winning and the rest will fall into place,” said Carlson, who signed with Thompson Boxing two years ago. “I always put in the work during training camp. I feel great and can’t wait to fight on Saturday night.”

The main event showcases a 10-round lightweight clash between Jose Felix Jr. (29-1-1, 24 KOs) and Yakubu “Black Mamba” Amidu (21-6-2, 19 KOs). Also appearing on the card is 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Oleksandr Gvozdyk (5-0, 4 KOs) and current Top 10 World Ranked Cruiserweight Murat “Iron” Gassiev (22-0, 15 KOs).

Florentine Gardens Hollywood is located at 5955 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, Calif. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first bout begins at 7:00 p.m.
