Tonight at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, Virginia, once beaten Light Heavyweight Lavarn “Baby Bowe” Harvell (13-1, 7 KO’s) returns to the ring when he takes on the only man to defeat him, Edgar Perez (6-14, 3 KO’s) in a bout scheduled for 6-rounds.
It was almost a year ago, June 14, 2014 when Perez dropped the then undefeated Harvell twice and scored the upset victory.
After the fight, Harvell took some time off and is s now training with Kay Koroma & Dennis Porter in Virginia. Tonight he will look to get even with native of Chicago.
Harvell, 27 years-old of Atlantic City recently re-signed with GH3 Promotions and with a win tonight, Harvell will make up for lost time as his promoter has set up an ambitious schedule for the Light Heavyweight contender.
“We wanted Lavarn to get right back in it. He knows he is better than Perez and he asked for this fight,” said Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions.
“When he does what he is supposed to do tonight, I want to bring him right back on July 17 as we have a nationally televised event that will be announced shortly and we plan to have Lavarn on that undercard.”
Harvell weighed in at 183 pounds at Friday’s weigh in.
