“I’m very happy to be fighting in front of my people, so I thank Zanfer as they have made this fight possible in Comitan. I can assure you that I will go out and defend my championship,” said Lopez.
Miguel “Scorpion” Berchelt and Sergio Puente will meet in the co-feature over ten rounds in the super featherweight division. It’s a bout that undoubtedly will see sparks.
Berchelt (25-1-0, 22 KOs) defeated lthe Nicaraguan René “Chirizo” Gonzalez last March to claim the NABO super featherweight championship, backed by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and pushing him closer to an opportunity at a world title.
Puente (22-1, 10 KO’s), who has a single loss on his record, suffered it last November by decision against former world champion Fernando “Ko-Chulito” Montiel.
The quality of the two is beyond doubt, so it will be a great support for the main event of the fight card on June 20 in Comitan, Chiapas.
