Dmitriy Salita delighted with new venue for Brooklyn show

Boxing is on an upswing. It has become more visible and popular, and a great card will be front and center and on display in Brooklyn tonight.

Dmitriy Salita is excited and proud to present a night of professional boxing. the very first boxing event to be held at the LIU Paramount Center, in Downtown Brooklyn, on Thursday, June 4.

Brooklyn is the hottest borough in NYC, and Salita promises the action, on a card topped by Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller, will reflect that reality.

“We are so proud to bring the sport to which all others aspire to this fabulous venue,” Salita said. “Over the last few years, Star of David Promotions has brought New York boxing fans exciting shows with incredible fights through our Brooklyn Brawl Series. This card will be an exciting addition to our series.”

Miller (12-0-1 with 10 Kos) is an emerging star in the heavyweight division, and figures to be in a throw-down with Detroit’s Damon McCreary (15-4) in the feature bout.

Miller was asked for his prediction, and he replied that he would win, “By first round knockout!”

Other hitters set to take part in the historic evening include: middleweight Akil Auguste, welterweight Julian Sosa, cruiserweight talent Steve Geffrard, elite amateur super bantam Michael Stoute, lightweight Dwayne Zeigler and welterweight Edward Williams.

“This June 4 boxing event will reintroduce LIU Brooklyn Paramount to the sports community,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center, who is instrumental in bringing boxing back to this region in a high-profile way. “Dmitriy has provided great opportunities for aspiring fighters and we are looking forward to working with him to solidify our grassroots boxing efforts in Brooklyn.”
