Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will return to the ring on July 18th facing Marco “Dorado” Reyes at a venue still to be determined.
The former WBC middleweight Champion, who was defeated in his last fight on April 18th after a year minus activity, now needs to smoothly blend into the super middleweight mix.
The likely possible venues include San Antonio, Houston and El Paso for Julio Jr who’s record is 48-2-1, 32 Ko´s.
“Dorado” Reyes, has also suffered 2 losses and he has 33 victories and 24 KO´s. He too is looking for a golden title opportunity.
Editor’s note: Chavez was linked to a catchweight clash with Matthew Macklin at around 167lbs, although that fight is on hold but not thought to be totally off the table. Macklin wanted the fight at 164lbs as the Irishman is not planning a move up to super middleweight after three failed attempts to win the world championship at 160lbs.
