World Boxing News will be scoring live on site this Saturday night as the vacant IBF super middleweight title is on the line in Boston.
American Andre Dirrell and James DeGale of the United Kingdom square off at the Agganis Arena for the chance to succeed previous champion Carl Froch.
Froch decided to vacate the belt he took from Lucian Bute so impressively in 2012 as ‘The Cobra’ debates whether to retire from the sport or face one of the world’s top contenders.
The task now falls on Dirrell and DeGale to take advantage of the opportunity that presents itself and put themselves in the frame as one of the main players at 168lbs.
The undercard in Massachusetts features a middleweight clash between Irishman Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan and Melvin Betancourt, whilst former world light heavyweight title challenger Edwin Rodriguez collides with undefeated Craig Baker over ten rounds.
Finishing off the main portion of the bill is Danny O’Connor versus Chris Gilbert in a 147 pound contest and there are also places for rising super bantamweight Jonathan Guzman and promising super featherweights Ryan Kielczewski and Logan McGuinness.
Log on to the WBN website from around 3pm ET and 8pm UK to follow how the fights are scored live.
