WBC D-Day looms for Jack v Groves, Ruiz v Donaire, Guevara v Lopez bouts

Bids are due in for three mouth-watering contests this week as Badou Jack and Pedro Guevara prepare to defend their respective WBC titles and Hugo Ruiz and Nonito Donaire vie for the chance to challenge Leo Santa Cruz.

In the super-middleweight division, new champion Badou Jack is set to defend his belt for the first time against Briton George Groves following his upset win over Anthony Dirrell in April.

Pedro Guevara, who holds the light-flyweight version, is ready to put his title on the line for the second time as compatriot Ganigan Lopez steps forward for his chance.

Finally, ex-interim WBA bantamweight title holder Hugo Ruiz will face one-time pound for pound star Nonito Donaire for the right to open negotiations with 122lb ruler Leo Santa Cruz.

The deadline for offers has been confirmed for the end of this week as promoters compete for the right to stage the high-profile fights in the coming months.

Here are the bouts to be arranged this coming Friday, May 22 at the WBC headquarters:

Badou Jack vs. George Groves

Mandatory defense of champion in the super-middleweight division

Hugo Ruiz vs. Nonito Donaire

Final elimination in the suber-bantamweight division

Pedro Guevara vs. Ganigan Lopez

Mandatory defense of champion in the Lt. flyweight division

News on the trio of contests will be updated at the weekend.
