Roman Gonzalez arrives on the big stage with stunning win

The 27 year-old, who is already a three-weight world title holder, made a stunning HBO network debut by taking out Sosa, a former world champion himself, in two short and painful rounds with a dazzling display.

Gonzalez possesses speed, accuracy and power in abundance having demonstrated all three with aplomb against a seasoned campaigner in Sosa, who just couldn’t deal with what the pound for pound star threw at him from the world go.

‘Chocolatito’ is no longer flying under the radar after impressing on a huge stage around the world for the first time and will certainly be starring on US TV again in the near future following a bruising victory that saw Sosa hit the floor three times.

Experienced referee Raul Caiz Sr. stepped in to save the Mexican from taking any more hurtful punches as the highly impressive Gonzalez moved to 43-0 with a 37th career stoppage to take his KO ratio up to 86%.

There’s no doubt that Gonzalez will become a big name stateside on Saturday night’s evidence at the Inglewood Forum, whilst calls for a massive clash with Naoya Inoue have already begun.
