Fighters to be honored at 32nd IBF Convention next week

The IBF/USBA 32nd Annual Convention is set to begin this Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Le Centre Sheraton in Montreal, Canada. “We are excited to finally bring our convention to Montreal.

The organization has been very active in Canada for quite some time, and in that region in particular. It should be a great convention and we hope to strengthen our connection with the local boxing community while we are there,” stated IBF President Daryl Peoples.

The Meet the Champions Cocktail, always a popular event, will take place on Monday, May 18. Expected to attend this event are Lucian Bute, Jean Pascal, David Lemiux, Katsunari Takayama, Steve Molitor, Matthew Hilton, Carl Frampton, Dierry Jean, Ghislain Maduma, Antonin Decarie, Schiller Hyppolite and other champions and boxers from the region.

On Wednesday, May 20 the Annual Awards Dinner will take place. Honored for their accomplishments in 2014 are:

Evgeny Gradovich – Jersey Joe Walcot Award

Naoko Shibata – Female Fighter of the Year

Receiving Championship Rings for three or more successful title defenses
