Tony Dodson returns on May 23 Stephen Vaughan card in Liverpool

The 34 year-old, who last fought in February 2014 when comprehensively defeating Jody Meikle over four rounds, has revealed a three-fight plan to get himself right back in the mix at the super-middleweight limit.

“I’m working hard in the gym, getting my weight down and I’m ready to fight,” Dodson told World Boxing News.

“It’s a six rounder to get me ready to go again in July before a WBF title shot in October against talented German Ben Donfack. I’m not sure how long I have left so it’s time to keep busy again and see where it can lead me.

“I was supposed to fight in November, but that didn’t happen so I’m glad to be back and am looking forward to getting in the ring again.”

Dodson is set to compete alongside a host of talent as the likes of Paul Economides, Antonio Counihan, David Agadzhanyan and Chris Goodwin feature on the bill. Nick Quigley will also fight in his second comeback since returning from a lengthy absence, whilst former WBC Muay Thai world champion Marlon Hunt makes his pro boxing debut at light-heavyweight.

Rounding off the huge thirteen-fight card are Lee Boyce, who battles Matthew Pepper fresh from his first round knockout in March, Tony Moran, Lee Willis, Jay Carney, Dayle Gallagher and Lee Churcher all in four round contests.

Tickets priced at £30 and £40 are all available direct from the fighters themselves or online at vaughaboxing.tv. They are also available to buy at Park Road discount store in Liverpool.
