MayPac predictions: UK Fighter’s edition (Part II)

Phil Jay 29/04/2015

World Boxing News have been busy gathering a huge collection of predictions for this weekend’s massive pay-per-view clash between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Personalities from the whole spectrum of the sport have given their input into the poll as we count down the days to the most highly anticipated fight of this generation when two of the best ever collide to finally decide the pound for pound king.

In this edition, more UK fighters give their opinion.

WBC and WBA welterweight champion Mayweather, 38, and 36 year-old WBO title holder Pacquiao lay it all on the line in a $250m blockbuster match-up and below are some of the views given by those from the boxing fraternity.

Stephen Smith – Mayweather points. Would love Pacquiao to win like but think Mayweather is too good.

Craig Kennedy – Mayweather will win convincingly on points.

Billy Joe Saunders – Pacman will have too much speed and angles for Mayweather and his foot work could confuse him.

Shane McPhilbin – Going for a good start by Pac, but Maywether to win comfortable on points.

Ross Burkinshaw – Pac round 10.

Deion Jumah – Seeing as Manny hasn’t stopped anyone in a while I can’t see anything different then a Money Mayweather points decision.

Martin Murray – Going for a draw.

Wadi Camacho – I think ‘Money’ Mayweather is going to win on points as he’s not going to get involved. Simple boxing.

Daley Ojuederie Perales – I think Manny will start fast and get the better of Mayweather in the early rounds. Mayweather will adjust and get used to what’s coming at him and after that, it will be all Mayweather. He will start picking Pacquiao off. It will be similar to what he did to Hatton but with more aggression as I think he will knock Pacquiao out in between the 5th and 9th round.

Marquez is not as quick as Mayweather and he found it easy to tag Pacquiao, so what do u think Mayweather will do with his speed and accuracy? Mayweather wins all day long, then retires after the fight with a 48-0 record and will arguably be one of the best ever to lace a glove.

Tyrone Nurse – Mayweather TKO some point from round 10 onwards. Manny busted up and marked up, plus behind on cards. Close fight up to halfway until Mayweather pulls ahead from the fifth or sixth onwards.

Anthony Fowler – Mayweather on points for me.

Ashley Vanzie – Mayweather all the way. He’s too smart and skillful. My prediction is he makes Pac look average.

Paul Butler – Mayweather points. I can see him struggling with the speed and stance of Pac at first, but timing will be the key. Hope it’s a draw so they have another one in September.

Tommy Coyle – Mayweather will win. Cool head in a hot kitchen.

Travis Dickinson – Mayweather points.

Rendall Munroe – A draw.

Lee Boyce – Mayweather PTS. Easy nights work and possible knockout if Manny comes all out attack. Floyd too slick, quick and accurate. He also has the telling shots.

Jamie Conlan – As much as it pains me to say it (being a Pacman fan), I think Mayweather will win a wide unanimous decision.

WBN MayPac partners Paddy Power are offering UK and Ireland punters a massive 4/1 on Floyd Mayweather or 9/1 for Manny Pacquiao to win if you sign up to Paddy Power here with your money back as a free bet if you lose.
