MayPac predictions: US Fighter’s edition (Part I)

Personalities from the whole spectrum of the sport have given their input into the poll as we count down the days to the most highly anticipated fight of this generation when two of the best ever collide to finally decide the pound for pound king.

WBC and WBA welterweight champion Mayweather, 38, and 36 year-old WBO title holder Pacquiao lay it all on the line in a $250m blockbuster match-up and below are some of the views given by those from the boxing fraternity.

Frank Galarza – I believe if Pacquiao doesn’t take risks he’s not winning, so I feel like it’s going to be a draw.

Daniel Prussak Jr – Pacquiao is the best opponent out there right now, but I am sure that at the end of the night Floyd will win that fight and it will not even be close. Mayweather is too intelligent in the ring, so not even Pacman could be a danger for him. I visited him in camp last week and he looks ready like never before.

Seanie Monaghan – I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a draw. Manny starting strong winning the first half, then Floyd figuring him out to with the 2nd half. Plus there’s so much money in it  I am sure everyone involved would love to do it again.

Julius ‘The Chef’ Jackson – I got Mayweather winning by split decision. It should be a good competitive fight though.

Danny O’Connor – My prediction is Mayweather. I think he’s a master boxer and once he figures Pacquiao out he will execute his gameplan.

James McGirt Jr – If I had to bet money I’m going with Floyd.

Eddie Chambers – Mayweather UD.

Julian Ramirez – I think Mayweather’s got the slight edge, I think he’s favourite to win. I think it’s going to be a competitive fight, but I’m going for Pacman.

Teon Kennedy – I think the first four rounds are going be close because they are going be feeling each other out, but by the fifth or sixth Manny is going to start making a lot of mistakes. I say that because he doesn’t like a slow-paced fight. He likes a high tempo fight and this is where Floyd is going to pick him apart. I think by the eighth or ninth you will see Floyd walk him down. I think the fight is going the full twelve though with Floyd winning.

Devon Alexander – MayPac is what everyone has been looking to see and what everybody wants to see. My prediction is Mayweather hasn’t fought a speed fighter in a long time, so I’m curious to see how he will handle the speed and the punches of Pacquiao. If he can’t handle Pac’s speed or work rate he will be in trouble and he can get beat. If May is able to utilize Pac’s speed and able to make Pac miss and counter then May will win with ease. Depends on which fighter is able to get his game plan off in the fight.
