Victor Ramirez picked up the interim IBF cruiserweight title and edged closer to a shot at full champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez with a unanimous points victory over Briton Ola Afolabi in his native Argentina.
The 31 year-old former WBO champion was handed the contest 116-111 and 115-111 (twice) on the judges scorecards, although was helped out by a two-point deduction for the dogged Afolabi in the eleventh round for a low blow.
Ramirez lost his first world title belt to Marco Huck back in 2009, which remains his last defeat, and now improves his record to 22-2. Ex-IBO title holder Afolabi, on the other hand, drops to 21-4-4 and faces yet another rebuilding job.
Elsewhere in France, big-punching Carlos Takam recovered from his recent defeat to Alexander Povetkin by knocking out also-ran Marcelo Luiz Nascimento in four rounds.
The 34 year-old was inching towards a first world title shot when stopped in the tenth round by former WBA title holder Povetkin, but is back in the win column with a 24th early career finish from his 34th bout.
On ShoBox in the USA, Frank Galarza remained undefeated by halting Sheldon Moore in three rounds. Galarza, 29, now boasts a record of 17-2.
