Denis Lebedev picked himself up off the canvas to make a successful third defense of his WBA cruiserweight title against tough Youri Kalenga on Friday night in Moscow.

The Russian, who went down in the fourth, was just that bit better than Kalenga for the majority of the twelve round battle and put the challenger on the floor himself before carding 116-111 and 115-112 (twice) with the judges.

Lebedev moves to 27-2 with the win, whilst Kalenga drops to 21-2 despite putting up a spirited effort and also loses his previous status as interim champion.

Eduard Troyanovsky became the new IBO super lightweight champion following an eighth round knockout victory over Aik Shakhnazaryan.

The undefeated Russian dropped Aik Shakhnazaryan before Ingo Barrabas reached the count of ten with the 21 year-old desperately trying to get to his feet.

With the win, Troyanovsky, 34, improves to 21-0 with an 18th early finish as ‘The Eagle’ picked up the first meaningful title of his caeer.
