Dennis Lebedev and Youri Kalenga went face-to-face at Monday’s press conference in Moscow for their upcoming fight to determine the WBA cruiserweight champion at 200 lbs.
Both fighters, Lebedev (26-2, 20 KO’s) and Kalenga (21-1, 14 KO’s) made it clear that they are ready for battle on Friday, April 10 in Luzhnik, Moscow. They say they expect it to be a good fight and showed each other mutual respect.
Kalenga, the interim champion, was born in Congo and later naturalized as French. He won the belt on June 21, 2014 when he defeated Mateusz Masternak in Monaco by split decision.
While Lebedev has been the world champion since 2011, he first won the interim title and then in 2012 won the regular title.
The Officials appointed by the WBA are: Guillermo Perez Pineda (PAN) as the referee, whilst the Judges are: Stanley Christodoulou (RSA), Leszek Jankowiak (POL) and Giuseppe Quartarone (ITA), with Renzo Bagnariol as supervisor.
