WBN Scorecard: Anthony Joshua v Jason Gavern

Phil Jay 04/04/2015

Jon-Lewis Dickinson claimed the WBC International Silver cruiserweight title and ended the unbeaten record of Stephen Simmons.

The 28 year-old halted Simmons in the eighth round to improve to 16-4 with a fifth KO and end a run of two straight defeats.

In contrasting fortunes Dickinson’s brother Travis, who like his elder sibling is a Prizefighter champion, was finished off in just one round by little-known Spaniard Mustafa Chadlioui.

Super featherweight contender Stephen Smith scored victories in successive weekends by out-pointing Barrington Brown over six rounds.

Despite suffering a cut and looking hurt in the fifth from a solid shot, the 29 year-old was on top for the majority and came through 59-55 on points.

Cruiserweight Simon Vallily took every round of six from Poland’s Wlodzimierz Letr and can now boast a 7-0 record from his two years in the pro ranks.

Hosea Burton stopped Lee Duncan in round four to make it five KO’s from twelve wins, whilst Lewis Ritson out-pointed Kristian Laight on his debut, lightweight Charlie Flynn moved to 2-0 with a four-round points win and Jordan King improved to 5-0 by halting Iain Jackson in the first session.

Jeff Saunders, brother of Bradley, began his career with a first round stoppage on the night.
