Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach said the current batch of sparring partners of Manny Pacquiao includes a dude who used to be a part of Floyd Mayweather’s camp.
“He’s my secret weapon right now,” Roach told an online boxing radio show in the US.
Roach didn’t name the fellow who claims that Mayweather had “disrespected him,” forcing him to pack his bags and leave the camp.
Roach said the fighter is now staying in his house and they regularly discuss strategy aimed at messing up Mayweather’s advantages.
Pacquiao is already in the thick of sparring but the unidentified guy will have his turn to bang bodies with the famed Filipino lefty sometime in the middle of April.
Editor’s note: Mayweather is 2/1 on favorite to defeat Pacquiao on May 2 and push his record to 48-0 – just one behind Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 record.
Recent form for Pacquiao, which includes losses to Juan Manuel Marquez and a highly debatable one to Timothy Bradley, see the Filipino as a 15/8 outsider before the first bell.
