BKB Middleweight Champion Gabriel Rosado has worn the underdog hat before. It’s a role he thrives on.
MGM Resorts International announced the challenger, hard-hitting New Yorker Curtis Stevens (-200) as the favorite over the champion, Rosado (+160), whose middleweight title serves as the main event at BKB 2 to be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and available on PPV on Saturday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET.
Adding to the evening’s drama, BKB has announced a $30,000 knockout bonus for the title fight. As the underdog in his previous fight, Rosado claimed the title at BKB’s inaugural event last August, knocking out Bryan Vera.
“Playing the role of underdog is something I’ve done my entire career, so I’m used to it and thrive on the challenge,” said Rosado. “I’m not afraid of anyone and when I enter The Pit on April 4, I’ll be ready to implement my training and experience in this format to knock Stevens out.”
“The $30,000 bonus is just more incentive for me to Knock out Rosado on April 4th and become BKB Middleweight Champion,” said Stevens. “Make sure you have the check written out to Curtis “Showtime” Stevens.”
Creating additional intrigue to the live PPV event is BKB’s in-glove fight technology. Fans will be treated to real-time information on who throws the hardest punch in every round, the type of punch, where it lands and how much hand mass has connected with the fighter’s body among other stats.
BKB, a new and intense close-range form of boxing that debuted last August, will bring back “The Pit,” a smaller, circular fighting space than a traditional square boxing ring with no ropes designed to produce more knockouts and heightened boxing action. BKB 2 will be available on PPV from DIRECTV and DISH, as well as cable and telco providers through IN DEMAND and Vubiquity for $29.95.
