Someone’s ‘0’ will go when Shinsuke Yamanaka defends his WBC bantamweight crown against Argentinian, Diego ‘El Fantasma’ Santillán in an unbeaten battle at the Bodymaker Colisseum in Osaka, Japan on April 16th.
The talented 32 year-old has so far defended his title a total of seven times since defeating Christian Esquivel for the vacant green belt in 2011, having stopped five of those challengers along the way – all on home soil.
Santillan, 27, is yet to make a sizable move up in class throughout his 23 victories and has only gone the championship distance once in his career against Lucas Carranza in 2012. Needless to say that Yamanaka is his acid test.
Also on the bill, Sho Nakazawa aims to notch his sixth career triumph against Alexander Cazares, whilst Tatsuya Ikemizu, super lightweight Shuya Masaki and super bantamweight Juiki Tatsuyoshi are all lined up to feature at the Prefectural Gymnasium.
