Brook going on like he beat a five-time world champion, should fight Thurman – Khan

Instead, the 28 year-old former Olympic silver medallist is set to return in May on US soil and says Brook’s four round demolition job on mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan was not as impressive as ‘The Special One’ is making out.

“I’ve seen his performance against Jo Jo Dan and he’s going on like beating Jo Jo Dan is like beating a five-time world champion,” Khan told Fighthype.com in a video interview over the weekend.

“He was fighting a b, c-class opponent, no disrespect to Jo Jo Dan but Kell is now a world champion and he needs to fight world class opponents.”

Khan, who last fought in December when dominating ex-world champion Devon Alexander, even went so far as to dare Brook to unify the titles against WBA belt holder Keith Thurman, one of the most feared punchers in the division.

“Brook should be fighting the he likes of Thurman,” he stated. “You have big names in the welterweight division but he’s picking and choosing who he wants to fight,” he added.

One of the reasons devout Muslim Khan has given for not accepting Brook’s challenge is the start of his religious observing of Ramadan, which begins on June 18.
