The camp of Floyd Mayweather has denied that the flamboyant boxer was knocked out by former rival Zab Judah during a recent sparring session.
“False. No,” Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said in an interview with Sky Sports.
An online report, citing an unnamed source, said Judah sent Mayweather to the canvas with a left hook, causing a huge uproar on social media.
Ellerbe, however, quickly refuted the claim but praised Judah’s efforts to help Mayweather add Pacquiao to his list of victims.
“Zab is in camp. Zab is a tremendous fighter – he’s been helping with the preparations along with several other sparring partners,” Ellerbe said. “They are really pushing Floyd, but nothing like that. It never happened.”
Judah also denied the report on Twitter, saying: “That’s Not True it never happened – stop it”
Mayweather kept mum on the rumor and instead posted an Instagram video of himself beating down a sparring partner.
