Sheffield puncher Adam ‘The Bomber’ Etches is getting stylish and doing his bit for charity thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Pellicano Menswear.
The London-based brand will be supplying him with formal and casual wear to ensure he’s as sharp out of the ring as in it. Pellicano has also worked with Adam to produce a limited range of Italian shirts, with 20% of sales going to the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
Adam has been an ambassador for the charity since 2013 and has helped to raise tens of thousands of pounds for its teenage cancer unit.
“I’ve seen the clothing Pellicano makes and it’s really smart and good quality,” Adam said.
“Sponsorship like this makes things easier for me as I can concentrate on my boxing career, but the fact that Pellicano is also helping Weston Park is unbelievable.
“The more people I can get supporting the charity the better. As well as beating my opponents I want to do as much as I can to help Weston Park beat cancer.”
Catherine Rhone, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity’s lead fundraiser, said: “People think charities have these kinds of opportunities coming to them all the time and we don’t, so we’re very grateful to Adam for the way that gets all his support involved with Weston Park.
“Around £16 from every sale of Pellicano’s new shirt will be donated to ourselves in order to help people living with cancer. I can’t wait to see Adam in it and we’ll be doing all we can to promote the shirt and let people know they can be fashionable and help a good cause at the same time.”
Mick Rose, director and founder of Pellicano Menswear, added: “Adam comes from a rich tradition of achievement in Sheffield which includes Herol Graham, Paul Jones and ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed and we look forward to sharing Adams success over the coming months and years as he joins their ranks.
“We, as a company, have a deep sense of social responsibility as part of our DNA and are very pleased to support Adam in his role as an ambassador for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. Adam clearly also carries the same belief in having a positive impact upon the communities in which we live.
“With some obvious British Swagger in the ring and dressed in our Italian style out of it we are confident that Adam will have an impact when he faces Sergey Khomitsky at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on Saturday 28th March.”
Pellicano Menswear produces handmade Italian clothing and accessories with a British twist and a touch of sixties cool. Using only the finest fabrics, the brand takes inspiration from movie icons such the Sean Connery-era James Bond, Marcello Mastroianni and Alain Delon.
Weston Park Hospital is one of only four specialist cancer hospitals in the whole of England. It treats more than 60,000 patients from across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire every year.
