Kono v Kameda ordered; Lebedev v Kalenga purse bid set for March 17

Kohei Kono and Koki Kameda were ordered to begin negotiation for their mandatory 115 lbs super flyweight title fight by the World Boxing Association.

The Championships Committee, chaired by Gilberto Jesús Mendoza announced the decision. Both parties were notified of the beginning of the 30-day-period to reach an agreement that shall be notified as indicated in the regulation.

In the case they do not to reach an agreement, then the Championships Committee will open the fight to Purse bid. Kono is the champion since March 26, 2014, has a record of 30-8-1, 13 KO’s while Kameda has 33-1, 18 KO’s.

Lebedev vs Kalenga to Purse bid

On March 17, 2015 at the Headquarters of the World Boxing Association in Panama City, the purse bid will take place for the 200-lbs cruiserweight division mandatory title fight between Denis Lebedev and Youri Kalenga.

Both fighters, regular champion Lebedev and Interim Champion Kalenga did not reach an agreement on the negotiation period given so the Championships Committee chaired by Gilberto Jesús Mendoza ordered the Purse bid as indicated in the regulation.

The Bidding will take place on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at WORLD BOXING ASSOCIATION OFFICE in Panama. The minimum bidding amount is US$ 200,000.00 and will be split 55% and 45%.
