Julio Cesar Chavez Jr who hasn’t fought in more than a year is being motivated and driven by accomplished coach Joe Goossen.
Julio is training at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. His preparation will need to be well focused and also exacting as his next opponent is rugged Pole Andrzej Fonfara at an agreed catchweight of 172 pounds.
On March 16th, the Mexican fighter will be turning 30 years old. Last year he convincingly defeated American, Brian Vera at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
In an ESPN interview, Julio is promising a ravenous renewed hunger, after joining Al Haymon´s team.
“Joe Goossen is a good trainer. We have seen him with Diego Corrales. I’ve known Joe for some time and he’s agreed to work in my corner, He’s going to help me a lot, along with Vladimir Baldenebro and Tiburcio Garcia.
“The only factor remaining is to define the last details with my Dad. We agreed to go to Lake Tahoe to close my preparation. It is important to put together an absolutely great camp to avoid any surprises. This is a tough fight and I have to be in the very best shape for it! “
