The stage is set following Manny Pacquiao’s grand arrival at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood and the recruitment of two sparring partners.

Wild Card chief Freddie Roach identified the spar-mates as Kenneth Sims Jr (5-0 with 2 KOs) of Chicago and Rashidi Ellis (13-0 with 10 KOs) of Lynn, Massachusetts.

Pacquiao shows up at the Wild Card today even if Roach won’t be there to lend a hand. Roach is in Macau to help Zou Shiming rev up for the world flyweight title on March 7.

While Roach is away, expected to handle Pacquiao’s workouts are conditioning coach Justin Fortune and Roach’s Filipino assistant Marvin Somodio.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao recorded his battle song for Floyd Mayweather last week.

After working out at the MP Tower (formerly the site of the L&M Gym), Pacquiao recorded “Lalaban Ako Para Sa Pilipino”, which will be played when he makes his ring entrance on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Written by Lito Camo, the same guy who penned the popular “Para Sa’yo Ang Laban Na’To” that the fighter used many years ago, the new song will likely be sang by his fans and followers in the runup to the biggest fight in the history of the sport.
