Sean Davis is hoping his new arrival doesn’t come early as he prepares for the fifth fight of his fledgling boxing career.

The undefeated Birmingham super featherweight (4-0) is set to become a father for the second time with his girlfriend, Melissa, due to give birth just 24 hours after his next bout.

The 25 year-old looks set to take on Janis Puskins, subject to BBBoC approval, at The Chase Leisure Centre, Cannock, on Saturday, 28th February 2015. Melissa is due to give birth, to a baby boy, the following day (1st March).

“We’re cutting it fine!” David joked to www.uko-boxing.com. “I’ve told Melissa to hold out as long as she can. I’ve told her not to come and watch the fight because the excitement may be too much for her. I don’t want her giving birth in the ring!

“We already have a little girl, Caitlyn Rose, who is two so it’s great to be having a little lad. We are going to call him Charlie! This is what I am boxing for; my family.”

‘Showtime’ Davis insists that, on the night, he will be fully-focussed on the task at hand as he looks to overcome his Latvian opponent.

“Training has gone very well for this fight,” He added. “After every fight we look to improve. I’m in very good shape and the weight is getting easier and easier to make.

“I was due to fight Jack Heath but he was stopped in Wolverhampton recently, so we’re hopeful of facing Puskins. Eastern Europeans are always very tough guys that will not sit back for one second of the fight. It’s exactly what I need to show me where I am at.”

Stafford’s undefeated fighter, Grant Cunningham, tops the bill as he steps down to middleweight to take on Damon Jones in an English Middleweight Title Eliminator.

Walsall’s Luke Paddock is also in action as he makes a maiden defence of his Midlands Area Light Welterweight Title when he takes on Newark’s Fergus Taylor. Stafford’s Rob Hunt faces Melksham’s Liam Richards for a British Bronze Masters Welterweight Title.

Stourbridge light middleweight, Steven Pearce, Leeds welterweight, Stevi Mennell, Stoke light welterweight, Josh McLaren, and Birmingham debutant Waqas Mohammed complete the card.

The show takes place at Chase Leisure Centre, Stafford Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 4AL. Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available by calling 01543 504065
