Kai Robin Havnaa (2-0, 1 KO) will face Patrick Linkert (4-7-1, 1 KO) on March 14 at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Havnaa returns following the second-round destruction of Merdjidin Yuseinov at the Nordic Fight Night in Frederikshavn earlier this month, and confidence is high for the Norwegian cruiserweight as he prepares for his third professional contest.
”I was really pleased with my performance against Yuseinov,” said Havnaa. ”I did what my coach Joey Gamache told me and everything went exactly to plan. The knockout was a big confidence boost for me.
”I can’t wait to get back in the ring, and I’m excited to be able to fight again so soon. This will be my third fight in four months. I want to keep busy. I want to fight as often as possible and gain as much experience as possible.
”Linkert is a solid opponent but I’ll be ready for the challenge. It’s only been two weeks since my last fight so I’m already in great shape. This week I will be returning to Copenhagen to resume my training with Joey.
”I know it’s early in my career and I still have a lot to prove, but I’m happy with my progress so far. I have a good team around me and I’m learning everyday. I look forward to testing myself against Linkert on March 14.”
Promoter Nisse Sauerland has also been pleased with the progress he has seen from the Norwegian prospect. ”Kai is a great kid and has the potential to become a real fan favourite,” said Sauerland. ”He’s shown good development in the gym and in the ring since turning pro. There’s a long way to go, but we believe with the right support and guidance Kai has the ability to go all the way!”
Havnaa joins countryman Tim-Robin Lihaug (10-1, 5 KOs) in action on March 14 at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen. Patrick Nielsen (23-1, 11 KOs) headlines the Nordic Fight Night show. The Danish boxing star takes on George Tahdooahnippah (34-1-2, 24 KOs) in his super middleweight debut.
