Happy birthday to Super champion Andre Ward

The WBA family sends an affectionate greeting to the 168 lbs super champion, Andre Ward, who today celebrates 31 years of life.

He was born in San Francisco, California, USA in 1984 and has been involved in boxing since a very young age. Ward had a successful amateur career and was part of the national selection of the United States, going on to win the gold medal in the Olympic Games in Athens 2004.

In December of that Olympic year, Ward made his debut in the professional ranks with a TKO2 win over Chris Molina. After some regional titles, he had the opportunity to face the up-to-then champion Mikkel Kessler, whom he defeated on points.

Since that moment, Ward is the owner of the black and gold super middleweight belt and has six successful defenses. Congratulations to a great Boxer, WBA ally and exemplary athlete.
