At the Grand Palace Hotel in Tokyo, Promoter Akihiko Honda this week, a bumper press conference was held to announce the next bout of WBC bantamweight Champion, Shinsuke Yamanaka.

He’ll be facing WBC top ranked Diego “El Fantasma” Santillan. This bout will be at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan, on April 16th. Argentinian, Diego Santillan, is going to fight for the first time outside his country.

During the press conference, southpaw champion, Shinsuke Yamanaka, announced that he feels rather confident of gaining the upper hand and he’ll try to knock out his Argentinian challenger.

“The KO will come. I’m really prepared, yet I’m not underestimating my rival. I already know Santillan is an offensive fighter. I have to be careful of his uppers and hooks, but, I’ve also got the distinct impression that he can be knocked out easily.”

Yamanaka became Champion after defeating by Mexican Christian Esquivel by TKO in the tenth round, back in 2011. Since then he’s successfully defended his Crown seven times.
