World Boxing News will be scoring live on site tonight as Britain’s Amir Khan and America’s Devon Alexander battle it out for a potential world title shot in 2015.
Khan, 28 and 27 year-old Alexander were due to meet twelve months ago until the fight was cancelled due to the possibility of the former landing a shot at Floyd Mayweather, but this time around the pair will finally trade blows.
The fight headlines an eye-catching bill at the MGM Grand and represents the first time both boxers have headlined in Las Vegas depsite Khan and opponent Alexander being former world champions.
Also on the bill, hard-hitting Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman puts his interim WBA welterweight belt on the line against recent European champion Leonard Bundu, whilst Jermall Charlo faces Lenny Bottai in an eliminator for a shot at two-time IBF title holder Cornelius ‘K9’ Bundrage.
Featherweight Abner Mares continues his run towards another world title shot against Jose Ramirez, whilst there is also places on the untelevised portion of the bill for ex-world champions Beibut Shumenov and Victor Ortiz.
Charlo’s twin brother Jermell, undefeated Errol Spence Jr and 147lber Yoshihiro Kamegai make up the more notable appearances in Nevada, with Showtime in the US and Sky Sports in the UK to broadcast on both sides of the Atlantic.
