Super-middleweight contender James DeGale has balked at ex-opponent George Groves suggesting a third fight with Carl Froch could take place following two knockouts agains the current world champion.
DeGale, speaking to IFL TV before his upcoming fight at the Echo Arena, questioned how Groves could even be considered to face Froch against after losing to the ‘Cobra’ in eight and nine rounds respectively.
Groves is the only fighter to hold a victory over DeGale since the Olympic gold medallist entered the paid ranks, although at this stage a return between the two has failed to materialize.
There are suggestions that the two could meet again at some point in 2015, but only if one of them can pick up a world title to give the bout even more clout at the box office.
