John Murray retires due to eye injury, takes on trainer role at new gym (video)

Former lightweight star John Murray has been sadly forced to retire at the tender age of 29 following three years of problems with his right eye.

The Mancunian suffered the injury in losing against Brandon Rios in Murray’s one and only world title shot back in 2011 and has finally admitted defeat in his bid to continue.

Murray has now opened a new gym which he has worked on for the past six months and is planning a role outside the ring as a trainer.
