This past Saturday night, British middleweight Martin Murray set-up a huge world title battle with WBA and IBO champion Gennady Golovkin on February 21 by defeating Italy’s Domenico Spada in Monte Carlo.
The 32 year-old from St Helens scored a seventh round techincal decision once the fight had been stopped on an accidental head clash and will now face the most feared puncher at 160 next year.
Also on the bill, undefeated Randy Caballero claimed the maiden world title of his career by out-pointing former title holde Stuart Hall to take home the IBF bantamweight belt, whilst Nick Blackwell and Sergey Khomitsky fought out a six-round draw in a support bout.
