Peter Fury’s brother Hughie loses fight for life following eleven-week battle

Hughie had surgery to place a pin into his leg in the summer, but developed a blood clot soon afterwards, which placed his life in danger and ultimately he could not recover.

After battling for almost three months, Peter announced on Saturday night that the Fury family had lost a prominent member of their loyal group, something that they are now trying to come to terms with in private.

“Sadly we lost our big brother today after eleven weeks of hard struggle,” stated Peter. “Life will never be the same again for all our family especially his wife and children. The loss we feel makes us numb with grief. He’s passed over to the blessed Lord and one day we will meet again our brother, love you always. Bless you Amen.”

Nephew Tyson cancelled his scheduled contest with Alexander Ustinov on the day of the fight (July 26) due to the seriousness of Hughie’s situation and this sad news comes as the undefeated fighter is in training for his rematch with Dereck Chisora on November 29.

All at WBN would like to pass on our condolences to the Fury family at this sad time for all concerned.
