World Boxing News will be scoring live on site tonight as Arthur Abraham and Paul Smith Jnr square off in Kiel, Germany for the WBO super-middleweight title.
Abraham, 34, makes the fourth defence of his World Boxing Organisation belt in what is the German’s second spell as champion, whilst Briton Smith is competing in the first world title bout of his career.
‘King Arthur’ has been mixing it with some of the best fighters in Europe at 168lbs, although challenger Smith has lost on both occasions when he has made a slight step-up and has also fought questionable opposition since losing to George Groves via stoppage in 2011.
None-the-less, 31 year-old Smith has the tools to upset the aging Abraham, who didn’t look at his best in defeating Nikola Sjekloca last May, if the two-weight world title holder isn’t on top of his game on Saturday night.
Former British ruler Smith famously took part in the Contender series in America earlier in his career and possesses a record of 35-3, with 20 of those wins coming inside the distance.
Log on to the WBN website from around 9:30pm BST to follow how the fight is scored live.
