Cleverly v Bellew II targeted for Liverpool on November 22

One-time 175lb ruler Cleverly and two-time light-heavyweight world title challenger Bellew are to meet again at the scene of their first battle, which the Welshman won via a majority decision back in 2011.

Both Cleverly, 27, and 31 year-old Bellew have since moved up to the cruiserweight limit and Eddie Hearn was keen to reignite their public feud once both had settle into the new weight division.

The rematch was originally scheduled to take place on November 29, although Frank Warren’s decision to switch the second fight between Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury to the new date has prompted Hearn to attempt to avoid a clash. An official announcement is due this week, although Hearn as this point is stating nothing has been confirmed regarding the earlier slot.

It remains to be seen whether the Matchroom promoter can seal some sort of eliminator status for the contest as Cleverly and Bellew are both ranked highly with various organisations due to their exploits at both 175 and 200lbs.

Animosity is at an all-time high since rumours first began that the two could square-off again as Bellew gets the chance to right the biggest wrong of his career and the Scouser will have home advantage over Cleverly once more.
