Tyson Fury made a clear statement as today’s press conference for his rearranged heavyweight clash with Dereck Chisora on November 29 in London.
The undefeated fighter and old rival Chisora collide in a rematch at the ExCel Arena on a card that also includes a mouth-watering contest with Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr at middleweight.
At today’s announcer, Fury turned up with a BBBofC gag over his mouth following his recent fine by the British Board for comments made the last time he and Chisora shared the same room in the summer.
Fury then refused to fully participate in the head-to-head, but was more in a playful mood – rather than using his actions as anything malicious for his part. Fury used similar antics in an attempt to upset David Haye in 2013 before their ill-fated double-cancelled bout which eventually collapsed in December last year.
This time though, Fury’s point was solely being made to the UK authorities, whom he obviously feels are trying to subdue him with consistent punishments.
To his credit, forthcoming opponent Chisora was pretty cool in his response and played along with proceedings alongside bemused promoter Frank Warren.
