Live scorecards on WBN tonight: Joshua v Airich / Quigg v Jamoye

Phil Jay 13/09/2014

World Boxing News will be scoring live tonight as British heavyweight hope fights for the eighth time professionally in a match-up against veteran Konstantin Airich.

The 24 year-old Olympic champion has blitzed all seven of his previous opponents within two rounds so far, and is a firm favourite to dispose of the German and move on to a tougher test next month.

Joshua is lined up to face Russian Denis Bakhtov for the vacant WBC International title on October 11 and victory would give the talented Londoner a handy boost up the rankings with the World Boxing Council.

Also on the bill at Manchester Arena is WBA ‘regular’ super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg making the fourth defence of his belt as the world title holder tackles Belgian Stephane Jamoye in front of his home fans.

Quigg is hoping to keep alive his chances of a unification with new IBF belt holder Carl Frampton and will need to impress to stay in the hunt.

Lightweight star Anthony Crolla also makes an appearance fighting dangerous Mexican Gamaliel Diaz, whilst a host of young Matchroom prospects also feature.
