Kell Brook vows to recover from stabbing and smash Amir Khan

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook has insisted that he will be back in the ring in 2015 following a stabbing incident and has firmly set his sights on a bout with British rival Amir Khan.

Brook, 28, has recently been reliving the nightmare of being attacked by a machete-wielding man in an apartment as the fighter attempted to enjoy a night out in Tenerife. Speaking to the Daily Mail, ‘The Special One’ went into vast detail and showed off his terrible wound after being swiped with a ‘foot-long’ blade by an assailant he had only met that same night.

Promoter Eddie Hearn stated last week that he expects Brook to make a full recovery from what is a gruesome gash on his leg, and Brook knows exactly who he wants to face when he does finally get back in the ring.

“I’m thinking positive because I have to, but believe me, I will get better, and then I’ll smash Amir Khan,’ predicted Brook, who only last month enjoyed his defining night when the Sheffield native defeated Shawn Porter to win the world title at 147lbs.

Despite being linked to bouts with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Brook has only one clash on his mind going forward.

WBN wishes him all the best in his recovery and hopes to see him get his wish in 2015.
