Garcia v Salka: Undercard results from Brooklyn

In an enthralling contest, Ali, 25, got the nod 96-93 (twice), whilst the third judge scored the same for Bryan as ‘World Kid’ moved on to 20-0 and a closer to his dream of a world title shot.

Earlier, three fighters enjoyed first round victories as Marcus Browne and D’Mitrius Ballard remained unbeaten in thier pro careers.

Both stopped their respective foes, Paul Vasquez and Barry Trotter before the end of the very first session and now move on to 12-0 and 6-0. Completing the first round treble was experienced lightweight Anthony Peterson, who halted Edgar Riovalle with some classy shots before the contest even began warming up.

Also on the bill, Prichard Colon was taken the distance by Lenwood Dozier, ending a run of ten straight knockouts for the 22 year-old Puerto Rican since his debut in February 2013, whilst Zachary Ochoa decisioned Luis Cervantes 60-54 (twice) and 55-55.

The fight seemed a lot closer than the pair of whitewash scorecards in favour of Ochoa, although the US-based Puerto Rican was the rightful victor and heads to 8-0.
