Former British and European light-middleweight champion Jamie Moore has been shot twice in the legs whilst working as a trainer in Marbella.
Reports surfaced that Moore, who has been retired from fighting since April 2010, was enjoying a night out in the Spanish city when the incident occured. Moore has been treated in hospital and police have stated that they have made no arrests and are still investigating what is an unbelievable turn of events for the likeable pundit.
As well as his TV work, Salford’s Moore has been training middleweight star and former opponent Matthew Macklin for his upcoming return to the ring in Dublin on August 30 at the Marbella-based MGM Gym.
The southpaw shared a ten-round barnstormer with Macklin back in 2006, scoring a knockout late on to claim the coveted Lonsdale Belt and made many fans during his ring career for his all-action style.
This latest news comes as a massive shock and almost a year on from Martin J Ward and his brother being left with wounds to their chest and legs after being shot on a farm in Navestock.
Ward has since made a full recovery and has boxed four times, whilst the full extent of Moore’s injuries has not yet been made public.
