Marcos Maidana refused to bow to any intimidation tactics by pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr as the Argentinian participated in the conclusion of the press tour for ‘Mayhem.’
The 30 year-old former world champion has been engaged in some tit-for-tat comments with Mayweather over their five-stop media engagement which culminated in a final face-off on Thursday.
As the two talked trash to each other during an attempted head-to-head, Maidana put his hand up in a defensve motion as if to warn Mayweather off, and as ‘Money’ walked in, ‘Chino’ pushed him back before retreating as the two-weight world title holde retaliated.
Things are heating up nicely for the September’s rematch at the MGM Grand, in which both stars are promising a totally different match-up to one that saw Mayweather, 37, take a majority decision victory back in May.
Maidana is confident he will be able to knock Mayweather out this time around, and wants to be allowed to wear his own gloves – which were banned by The Money Team in the first meeting.
